UK Online Sales Hit the 1 Billion Mark
- Friday 13th December 2002UK consumers spent over GPB1 billion (USD1.58 billion) on online purchases last month, according to the Interactive Media in Retail Group (IMRG).
Novembers sales represent an increase of 10.1 percent on the preceding month when UK consumers spent GBP860.5 million (USD1.3 billion) on purchases.
Online sales have almost doubled over the past year in the UK and growth in Internet shopping is 15 times faster than that of general retail sales.
IMRG estimates that UK online retail sales are growing three times faster than in the US.
