Consultation without the BS

For when you really need to know the truth

Before we started Adamantean we had tech jobs at a variety of different firms. We're all familiar with the MD coming to tell us he's bought a big pile of crap becasue a team of flashy salesmen told him he needed it. The truth of the matter is that these bosses usually paid well over the odds for something relaively mediocre that wan't required, or that required so much adaptation to work with existing software that it made the whole exercise pointless.

What also astounded us in our time with private business is that IT staff are seldom involved in the IT procurement process. Some suits meet some other suit then we're all told what's been bought and how brilliant it's going to be. But it never was brilliant, and we all watched literally millions of pounds being squandered on pointless and fruitless exercises.

If you think this all sounds a little exaggerated then why not pop in for a coffee and let us turn your hair white with stories of the million pound application that could only support one user at a time or the hardware that become redundant before arriving off the ship.

If you want honest, open and frank advice about how best to solve your online dilemma then get in touch. We are not affiliated with anyone so we won't try and sell you any bloatware from our brother in laws IT firm and we won't even recommend the company that always sending us freebies unless their product is the right one for you.

Roofing

It's our job to know about IT which is why we understand the jargon and can spot a salesman 2 conversations away. When you work with something day in, day out you get to know it. It's the same for every occupation under the sun. A roofer told us last week that our

"Hip on the eave had come away and was leaking water through our facia board to our soffit."

It's not our job to understand this and because we've never had anything to do with roofs before we were lost. Which is why we asked a firend of an employee to come along and see if we're being taken advantage of.

As it turns out the roofer was completely right and we have had the repair work carried out. But there's nothing like double checking

Areas We Can Provide Help

We can advise on all matters online. Apart from being exposed to thousands of online systems in our time we spend our free time reading about the latest IT solution from the Government or the latest 'cure all' purchsed by our local council.

We live and breathe technology so whilst we may not be able to provide you with your solution we will be able to tell you how it should work, how long it would take to build and how much it should cost.

Areas We Can't Provide Help

We're not experts in advising you the best place to buy 100 PC's or which Xerox machine is compatible with your office network. We won't advise you on who the best companies are to carry out work although we will evaluate all quotes provided to you and tell you which are realistic and which are most likely to suceed in providing what they've promised.

We'll also let you know who's done their homework properly but checking load capabilities on a certain type of machine or how many concurrent users Apache support and we'll tell you who's on the money and who doesn't have a clue what they're talking about.
